A fictional crime drama, spun around recent historical events, La Famiglia depicts the intrigues and plots of the Saraceni family. Five brothers, first generation Maltese, the sons of late Ascanio Saraceni, who lead a dual life running legitimate businesses on the island of Malta, whilst labouriously protecting a small criminal empire of underground lucrative projects involving trafficking and organised crime.

Ascanio Saraceni died recently of natural death. The responsibility of the Saraceni family fell on the shoulders of Cesare Saraceni, the eldest of the five brothers. Guided by his mother Angela, Cesare, a charismatic, yet troubled figure, faces the challenge to keep the family united and hold his father’s empire.

The tale explores a vast set of emotions between lovers, family and enemies, including love, betrayals, friendship, rivalry and revenge.

The Saraceni find themselves at crossroads. Cesare needs to seal strong alliances with local operators and strengthen the family’s historical bond with the Sciobetta clan in Sicily. However a number of rivals have set their eyes on their operations.

Will the family succumb to this hostile siege?
